The escalation of winning £37M is more excitement than the average gambler can imagine. But for Behar Merlaku, 26, the joy suddenly took a turn he never quite expected.

While at a casino in Bregenz, Austria the Swiss player matched four out of the 5 symbols on a fruit machine. He was told he the won the massive jackpot as the slot started to flash and the winning bells of merriment chimed.

Merlaku was in for a surprise when he went to claim his winnings and was refused the payout and instead offered £60 and a free meal instead. The casino claims there was a “software error” and compensated him with the much smaller cash prize. 

A lawsuit has been filed against Casinos Austria with lawyers claiming the player is entitled to win what the machine stated he won.

The civil suit is one of the biggest casino claims throughout the world and has the full attention of gaming operators as the news unfolds.

It is one fruit machine of its kind to offer players sour grapes instead of a fresh harvest of fruit.

Oh my gosh! I can't wait to see how this unfolds. I'd love to see how they are going to prove that it was an error. Even so, pretty low.

so was it an error? I mean 4 out of 5 symbols shouldn't actually pay out the jackpot should it?
